Testy testosterone

September 11, 2007 at 9:02 am (road rage)

Driving up Roeland Street I passed a car before reaching the end of the road. I didn’t cut them off or do anything stupid – there was enough space and they didn’t have to brake to let me in at all.

So I find it rather difficult to believe my partner’s statement that the jerks didn’t like it because I’m a girl.
Instead of just stopping behind me at the robot they were visibly aggressive, inching closer and closer to our car. They even did the hood jumping thing you’d expect to see in a B-grade gangster film.

For once I didn’t react to an asshole on the road. I stayed calm even when it looked as if they were in our boot. I swear there wasn’t enough space to put a ruler between our cars.

I refused to break the stare the driver was giving me though. The pipsqueak looked as if he’d just started high school.
When the light turned green I pulled away calmly even though I was seething and itching to get out and bitchslap the boy who was driving.

I think they were drunk and dumb but my partner insists it’s a male thing – they weren’t impressed by the fact that a girl has passed them.

This may sound dumb but I really hope I’m right on this one. Because the alternative is just too scary to contemplate.

Your partner is right. It’s a guy thing. They probably called you a bitch too. LOL!
