Lots of online love

September 6, 2007 at 9:23 am (cyber friends)

It’s amazing how you can make friends online. I know, I know, it’s not a replacement for real-life friendships but it’s actually quite amazing how good it can be.
The best thing about it is you’re judged not on your looks, the way you sound, the way you walk or what you’re wearing. No, “does my bum look big in this” or anything like that.
Instead, it’s about what you say and how you say it. What you believe and how you respect other people’s beliefs. And how you keep the pendulum swinging because it really is so much harder to be nice in cyberspace (there’s no enforced smiles so you keep on working at it).
I know there are lots of naysayers who reckon online friendships are a farce – and even if they were right (I’m sure you know how I feel about that), so what. It’s lekker anyway.

I agree Toby. There is no judging on looks going on. I think it’s great!

And you don’t have that awkward silences when you’re unsure of how to fill the space!

No, you just have no comments on your blog 😛

I definitely agree that you can make good friends online – in fact from when I was in high school I made some excellent friends with whom I’m still best friends with from mIRC. My parents hated the online thing but hey, there are some normal people out in cyberspace 😉

    PLUS PLUS…

We haven’t even asked each other what size bra we are, so we’re definitely not perves…know what Im sayin?

True Mrs M. No perves on this side of the screen even though we talk about turds, fuck me shoes and so on…
    Whats MIRC, DMM?

  6. The Divine Miss M said,

mIRC is a chatting system with loads of channels and sad people with online nicknames 😉 We used to get together for “meets” etc. Great fun but highly addictive.

MrsM – we’re not perves, no, never, we just obsessively look into other people’s lives 😉 Want to know my bra size? *muahahahhaa*

    mwhahahahahaheeeeeeelll no!

    😦

  9. madamm said,

    okay man, just tell me.

  10. Toby Hanks said,

    I’m a 34C in case anyone was wondering…

  11. The Divine Miss M said,

Woah – Toby really wants to share 😉

No, the moment has passed now.

  12. madamm said,

    That’s nice Toby. Im not a 34C. I wish.

  13. The Divine Miss M said,

I’m way more than a 34C, I wish I was though, that is the “perfect” size. I have big boobs and I hate them.

  14. Toby Hanks said,

Mrs M, so what size are you? DMM, share girl, who complains about big boobs anyway?

  15. madamm said,

    I’m a F- fluctuating bra-wearer. It changes, mostly between a B and C cup- now I’ve heard Im a D. 38 D.

    Blegh.

  16. Toby Hanks said,

Why blegh? That’s great. Do you know how many people want big boobs???

  17. madamm said,

Cos man, its crap. The bigger my boobs are, the more weight I picked up. That’s how it is.

  18. Toby Hanks said,

    Big boobs rock. Ask Pammie.

  19. The Divine Miss M said,

I agree with MrsM. I’m about a 32EE, do you know how hectic that is?! I have a small back too 😦

Big boobs are a curse, so much clothing you can’t wear, exercise you can’t do and it means you’re getting faaaaat!

  20. Toby Hanks said,

Wow! Again, I ask, do you have any how many women go for cosmetic surgery to get that?
I can imagine it must be a strain on the back. But bigger boobs doesn’t necessarily mean fat. It could just be the hormones and such things.

  21. The Divine Miss M said,

Or just being prone to having big boobs? I’m not fat really, I weight about 67kg’s. I used to be skinnier but they never were smaller 😦 I think it is because I used to be fat and had big boobs but when I lost all of the weight I never lost the boobs.

I hate them though to be honest with you, if they were perky big boobs I’d love them. But they aren’t.

  22. Toby Hanks said,

See!!! Big boobs doesn’t necessarily mean fat. I also wished I had perky boobs when I was in my I-hate-my-boobs phase but then decided soft, curvy and round is so much better than pancakes with raisins.

  23. madamm said,

    Pancakes with raisins. hee hee

  24. Toby Hanks said,

And you know how much I hate raisins. *Toby thinks of dead flies*

  25. Louisa said,

I’m totally with you on this one Tobes! I’ve made some awesome online friends – and some that I now even get to see in real life from time to time. 😀

  26. tbhanks said,

There are indeed awesome folk online but I haven’t yet met any of them in real life Louisa (other than the ones I knew before anyway).
