The richness of health

August 29, 2007 at 8:38 am (health)

I need some serious money if I want to be healthy. I’ve been trying to eat more healthy food but how on earth can I sustain it if it costs so much?
No wonder we have so many obese people in this country (the world?) – healthy food is just too expensive.
Or am I just making excuses again?

🙂 What healthy food are you buying? I think we’re pretty healthy and we come out at R 400 a week for 2 people. Maybe it’s just an excuse Toby? 🙂

Woolies, Mrs M. And all the food shops around here.
Gnome, it’s really difficult to buy for two, I find. I end up having to throw out half a bag of veggies and fruit because they go rotten. And the food from Sumo, Earth, etc charge an arm and a leg for a dish from there (which I won’t waste because it’s just one portion).
It really isn’t an excuse now that I find myself having to defend my position!

I agree Tobes…good food is rediculously expensive.

Yay! Someone agrees with me. Thanks Louisa, I was starting to wonder if I’m really making excuses here.

You should freeze your veggies and buy from McD’s Cheap menu.

Yah it is difficult to buy for 2 Toby. We just buy small quantities so that it doesn’t get bad. Gets pretty irritating though, having to shop all the time. Healthy food like fish and sushi is expensive in restaurants. Organic veggies are also pricey. I think you can get around all these things though and buy pretty healthy stuff and not paying an arm and a leg. Maybe it’s just me?

Boinky, I’d rather eat newspaper than McD’s. Gnome, it is rather difficult to do the shopping thing when one doesn’t have time. I’ll try to make a plan though. More effort or something. *sigh*
    Batman, go fly something.
