I have a problem. I can’t stop buying books.
I’ve been trying to be on a book diet but have failed like many a I-need-a-chocolate-so-bad-I-can’t-see-straight dieter. Except it’s books, not food.
My shelves are overflowing, my cupboards full. What am I going to do?
There are no support groups, no BA (Books Anon) to turn to. Aaargh! I just can’t stop.
But I figure I’m still ok…Rather have my uncontrollable excess settle on the brain than on the hips…Right?

Hehe. I don’t think you have a problem Toby (unless you’re putting yourself in debt or bcoming a hermit or something?). You’re just improving your general knowledge and vocabulary, and thus your intelligence!

Thanks Gnome – now I know I’m not that antisocial!

Tobes, I have the same problem! I’ve imposed a rule on myself though…I’m only allowed to own what I can fit on my bookshelf. So every now and then I traipse out of here with a bag full of books either for the library as a donation or to friends who want it.

(I can stack it three rows deep and more than half a meter high on top of the shelf…it looks ready to topple at the moment, so it’s probably time to pick favourites again soon)

Oh Louisa, if only it were that easy! I can’t bear the thought of giving away any of my books so that plan isn’t going to work for me. *sigh*
