Why oh why?

I fail to understand why anyone would want to damage a school.
Stealing computers and copper fixtures I can understand (sadly) but damaging water pipes in toilets, books in libraries and setting classrooms ablaze? WHY?
What kind of sick person does something like this? I just don’t get it. I don’t get why you’d want to destroy the one thing that could help you escape the hellhole in which you live.
Then again, there are lots of things I don’t get. Maybe this will just remain one of those unanswered mysteries.
